SOS: Give Your Patients Speech or Sound

Free to download and print.

The SOS Communication Kit is a simple 6-page document. It can be downloaded and printed - free - by any clinician or support person worried about a patient’s ability to communicate.

With a pair of scissors and a staple, the SOS Communication Kit converts into a PointSheet for staff and a 16-page FlipBook for patients.

Thanks to the talent and generosity of volunteer doctors at MMAMTB, the SOS Communication Kit is being translated into more than 40 languages and will be illustrated for non-English speaking patients, as well as those without literacy.

We are currently refining the SOS Communication Kit and adding as many languages as we can... Watch this space!

Help Them to Know You Care

The SOS Communication Kit requires six pieces of blank paper, scissors and a staple to construct. It consists of a staff PointSheet and a series of flashcards which, when stapled at the top left corner, convert to a 16-page FlipBook for patients.

The Kit is 'single use' for infection control purposes and designed to travel with a patient through their hospital journey. It is environmentally sustainable yet may be disposed of and reprinted if moving from a contaminated environment or if it  becomes worn or soiled in the course of clinical care.
